Serving the Vancouver Community

reBOOT Canada has been operating in Vancouver, BC for over a month, ready to serve the  Vancouver community and surrounding area, working to close the digital divide that exists across Canada.

Since forming in 1995, reBOOT Canada has been focused on computers, connections and community. Now after opening their third location in Vancouver, reBOOT Canada continues to put community first, and now with a new location in Vancouver, reBOOT Canada is here to support the Vancouver community through our various programs.

We have various programs that support our mission, and we are excited to extend these programs to the residents of Vancouver, BC and beyond.

reLAY

Our reLAY Neighborhood Network initiative was formed with the commitment in making access to the internet available to everyone. Access to the internet grants Canadians the opportunity to access education, seek employment and also stay connected to family and friends. We have been successful in implementing 24/7 Wi-Fi access in various locations across Toronto, including our Parkdale reLAY network, and reLAY is now available in Vancouver. If you are a local community facing organization, charity, not for profit, social enterprise or business with an idea of providing free public Wi-Fi coverage to  those in the Vancouver community  who may not be able to afford it, please contact us to discuss how reBOOT Canada might be able to support your initiative.

reSTART

Our reSTART program provides computers at below retail cost for people receiving social assistance. These affordable computers help local Vancouver community members get access to education, find employment and even start to manage their own small business, and get access to other local community organizations that may be able to support them in other ways.

This program is open to any resident of Canada, who receives financial support from programs such as;

  • National
    • Employment Insurance (EI)
    • Old Age Security (OAS)
    • Veterans Affairs Canada (VA)
    • Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB)
  • British Columbia
    • Employment and Assistance for Persons with Disabilities (PWD)
    • Income Assistance (IA)
    • Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction
  • Ontario
    • Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services
    • Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP)
    • Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)
    • Ontario Works (OW)

Other provincial programs similar to those listed above

Social service workers can order reSTART computers on behalf of their clients.

Anyone can sponsor the purchase of a reSTART computer for someone who qualifies for the program. If there is a specific person you would like to buy a computer for, simply choose the sponsor option in the application form.

The computers provided by reBOOT Canada have been refurbished and all previous data has been removed. We ensure that the computers are in good working order. The computers may show signs of wear, but they have been tested and should provide years of trouble-free service.
