Since the middle of March, the reBOOT Canada team has been adjusting and responding to the changing conditions and risk-levels due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As an essential service, we have been able to continue operating by:
- Adjusting hours of operation and store capacity policies and instituting new curbside pick up and delivery programs
- Enabling work from home for staff as required
- Maintaining supplies of sanitizer, disinfectant and ppe
- Taking care of each other: monitoring any signs of illness carefully.
We are fortunate and grateful that the reBOOT Canada team has been able to remain at work and able to sustain many of our programs throughout the crisis. We empathize with many individuals for whom the pandemic has forced the loss of a job. We work and look forward to a timely recovery for everyone. To that end, we remain committed to hygiene and safety and remind everyone to wear a mask indoors and follow local public health guidance carefully and diligently. We appreciate and salute the hard work of municipal and regional staff supporting programs in a consistently professional and sensitive manner. We’ll soon be out of this together.
As an organization, reBOOT Canada broke records in supplying computers to our Technology Access Programs, nationally through the reSTART program and regionally through the Peel Computers 4 U program, going to from 25 computers per month to 25 computer per week. We’ve resumed out work in Biigtigong Nishnaabeg installing a free public wi fi access point there, and we are currently working on a return to creating paid placements for marginalized youth and co-op opportunities, subject to the direction of the Toronto, Toronto Catholic and Kawartha Pines and Peterborough Victoria Northumberland Catholic school boards.
Our locations are open by appointment, if you or someone you know requires any of our services you can contact us at info@rebootcanada.ca for general inquiries, restart@rebootcanada.ca for individuals computer requests or resource@rebootcanada.ca for other not-for-profit, charities and community-supporting organizations or by phone at 416 534 6017 x1.
